ACC Selection Process 2020 & Eligibility Criteria

There are many ways by which one can join the Indian Army as an officer. How to Join Army Cadet College?

First of all, there are no direct ways to join Army Cadet College. The only person can apply for this entry who has already enlisted personnel in any of the services. One must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in any of the forces as a soldier or as any other commissioned post.

One can only become an officer in the Indian Army through ACC Entry. The training of the cadets is pretty much similar to the NDA (National Defence Academy). Now let’s see the complete selection process and required eligibility criteria which are mandatory to have to apply for this.

Eligibility Criteria for ACC Entry:

  • To apply for the ACC Entry, A candidate must have served for 2 years in any of the forces like Army, Navy, or Airforce as a Soldier or other commissioned post.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 in any discipline from the State Board or central board.
  • There is no restriction regarding marriage. Both Married and Unmarried are eligible to apply for this.
  • The Age of the candidate must be between 20-27 yrs old. It should not be less than 20 years while applying and it should not be more than 27 years old on the commencement of the training.
  • There is no relaxation given to any particular caste or community regarding Age.

Army Cadet College Selection Process 2020:

In order to get selected, A candidate will need to clear Written Examination and all the candidates who will clear the Written Exam will Proceed for the SSB Interview and then Medical Examination, etc.  Basically the Selection process is like:

  • Written Examination
  • SSB Interview
  • Medical Examination

The selection of the candidates will be purely based on the overall cutoff marks.  The Written Examination is a bit easy as compared to the SSB Interview. The SSB Interview is one of the toughest Interviews in India at 10+2 level.  This Interview is basically five days long and each day you will be tested in a different manner.  You can check the complete details about the SSB Interview in our previous blogs.

Once a candidate clears the SSB Interview, All the qualified candidates will be sent for the Medical test which is done at the Military Hospitals under the guidance of the military Doctors. Now let’s see the  Exam Pattern and Syllabus of ACC Entry 2020 that one has to prepare for the Written Exam.

ACC Entry 2020 Syllabus:

For the Written Examination of the Army Cadet College. A candidate will need to prepare four subjects and each subject would be for 300 marks.

  • General Mental Ability Test
  • Current and General Awareness
  • Interactive Communicative English
  • Academic Content Test etc.

A candidate needs to prepare only these subjects. There are many books available in the market by which you can have complete preparation for the exam but I would suggest you go for the online study materials because it would cost you less as compared to the offline stores.

Exam Pattern of ACC Entry:

  • Each subject would be carrying 150 questions.
  • Each Question would be for 2 marks.
  • Total number of question: 600
  • Total marks: 1200

How to prepare for the Written Exam and SSB Interview of ACC Entry:

The Written Exams are not tough to clear if you prepare your basics well but the SSB Interview is tough and you will need to prepare very well for this Interview. This Interview is very different from regular and personal Interviews. You will need to join the Coaching Institutes or any academy where you could get the complete training about its procedures and how to appear in the Interview etc.

There are also some Online platforms where you can get the details about the SSB Interview training but being the live classroom is way better than the online training.  You may get the complete information but you will need a mentor who can correct your mistakes and make you able to appear for this Interview.  There are also many SSB books that are available in the market for this preparation. The preparation of any examination completely depends upon your capability. If you are passionate about this and really want to be in the Service. These things may not be tough for you.  Prepare yourself better for the exam, competition is too much.
